BesideYou exists to help people find useful support earlier, without asking them to prove they deserve it.

What BesideYou promises

• Essential guidance stays free. No paywalls, subscriptions or adverts.
• No paid referrals, and your personal information is never sold.
• You never have to prove you are ready or deserving. Abstinence is not a condition of using anything here.
• Setbacks are treated as ordinary, and coming back is easy.
• Written and self-guided routes wherever they genuinely exist.

What BesideYou is not

• Not a registered charity.
• Not an emergency or clinical service. Nobody watches the community around the clock.
• Not able to arrange housing, appointments or benefits on your behalf.
• Not a replacement for a doctor, housing adviser or benefits adviser — it helps you reach them.

How the guidance is checked

Every guide lists the public sources it was drafted from, which UK nations those sources cover, and the date they were last checked by hand. Guides are currently marked awaiting professional review, because health, benefits and housing guidance needs sign-off by appropriately qualified people. We will not claim a review has happened until it has.

Always check the linked official source for your nation before relying on a guide. If a source has changed, this guide may not yet reflect it.

Your information

You only need an account to post or reply in the community; it stores your email and the name you choose to show. Community posts and replies are public. Your chosen nation and saved plan are stored only in your own browser on this device. The starting-point page does not send your choice anywhere. If you use the optional AI guide finder, the description you enter and your chosen nation are sent to Lovable AI to suggest existing guides. That description is not saved as a conversation, and nobody at BesideYou monitors it. Avoid sharing names or identifying details.

That also means they are not backed up. You can copy, download or print your plan at any time from My plan, and clearing your browser data will remove it.

Optional accounts for saving your plan across devices, a verified local service directory and admin review tools are the next things to be built. They are not pretend features — where something is unfinished, BesideYou says so instead of showing an empty screen.
